  • Gina’s Place is set to reopen at the former McAllister’s Deli building (2400 S Caraway Rd) once move details are finalized after a December eviction from Fountain Square. The business will offer drive-thru pickup and insulated coolers to keep meals warm.  K8 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Arkansas Financial Education Commission launched a free online financial literacy platform on Thursday — powered by Enrich to offer interactive lessons in budgeting and retirement planning. The initiative received a $15,000 Walmart Foundation grant and a $10,000 Cornerstone Foundation grant.  Delta Digital News Service

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Arkansas State men's basketball team beat Texas State 83-82 on Saturday, Jan. 10 in a close game that energized fans in Jonesboro. The win marks an important step as the team builds its season.  K8 News
  • After the women's basketball team lost (at Troy on Jan. 6), Destinee Rogers offered candid thoughts on the challenging matchup, noting that the team is working hard to bounce back in upcoming contests.  K8 News
  • Arkansas State football has received 2026 portal commitments from SEC & C-USA, MAC & FCS, a move that university officials say will boost the team's recruiting for the upcoming season.  K8 News
