  • The Jonesboro Fire Department is accepting online applications for its free Citizens Fire Academy that runs Mondays from March 6 through May 11 from 6 to 9 p.m.—registration ends Feb. 27.  K8 News

  • Jonesboro lost to Bryant in a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 6; local high school teams played a close, fast game that kept fans engaged throughout the night.  K8 News
  • Arkansas State alum Liam Hicks was named to Canada's 30-man roster for the World Baseball Classic, which starts March 6th. He hit .247 with 6 home runs (45 RBI) for the Miami Marlins and led the 2023 Arizona Fall League with a .449 average.  K8 News
  • Junior thrower Menachem Chen will become Arkansas State’s 12th Olympian and first Winter Olympian when he competes in bobsleigh events at Milano Cortina 2026. Chen — a record holder in discus and a winner of indoor shot put titles — represents the Israeli team.  Jonesboro Right Now
