- ➤ Nancy Benson Ward donated $100,000 to create the Dr. Bill W. Benson Memorial Scholarship at A-State’s College of Veterinary Medicine (opening fall) to support full-time veterinary students and honor her late brother’s dedication; the first award will be given during the 2026-27 academic year. - ➤ Brookland Public Schools Superintendent George Kennedy met with 12 licensed educators to notify them they will not be recommended for contract renewal next year amid a drop in student growth funds.
