- ➤ Following severe weather on March 15th, the American Red Cross is surveying damage in affected areas and is working with community, government & emergency management officials to plan where extra help will be sent. The agency has not yet provided more details on the relief efforts. K8 News
- ➤ Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared a state of emergency after tornadoes swept Arkansas on March 14, destroying homes and leaving multiple people dead - she will release $250,000 from the Disaster Response and Recovery Fund to help the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management cover costs. - ➤ Crews from Craighead Electric Cooperative are working to restore power for thousands in Northeast Arkansas after severe storms damaged infrastructure; efforts so far have restored service to about 1,365 meters while teams repair nearly 70 broken poles and 85 spans of wire — additional help from Arkansas Electric Cooperative, Inc. and SEC is being used with more updates expected as repairs continue.
