- ➤ Arkansas State University’s Theta Upsilon chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha will host the Alphas for Autism 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m. on the Heritage Plaza Lawn of the Carl R. Reng Student Union to support Ag for Autism during World Autism Acceptance Month—participants can register ahead for $25 or on the day for $30 with proceeds benefiting Ag for Autism. - ➤ State Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on March 14th at 7 p.m. on U.S. Highway 63 west of Bono in Craighead County—Allan Brown, 45, was pronounced dead at St. Bernards Medical Center while another man is receiving treatment in Little Rock and a passenger in one vehicle was not injured. - ➤ At its quarterly meeting on March 18th, 2025, ASU System President Brendan Kelly said that breaking ground on the new College of Veterinary Medicine in Jonesboro shows the system’s ongoing strategic intent — the $33.2 million, 56,000-square-foot facility will welcome its first students in fall pending accreditation. Coach Destinee Rogers was introduced to congratulate her team for winning the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and earning its first NCAA Tournament berth — a milestone that highlights the program’s rise.
