  • Yesterday, the Arkansas250 Commission unveiled a historical marker honoring U.S. Sen. Hattie Caraway at A-State’s V.C. Kays House; the marker is one of 11 placed statewide to mark the nation’s 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.  K8 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Arkansas State University has announced a new scholarship in memory of Heather Goodwin and in honor of Brandon and Jennifer Mitchell. The scholarship will reward full-time students with strong academics and leadership, alternating each year between eligible Pi Kappa Alpha and Alpha Omicron Pi recipients.  Delta Digital News Service
  • Applications are now open for NYITCOM Project H.E.A.R.T., a week-long program giving rising juniors and seniors hands-on healthcare career exposure; the program will be held in June at Arkansas State University with classes and professional demos that build practical insight.  K8 News
  • Arkansas State University launched an entrepreneurship course in fall 2025 that lets students meet local executives from sectors like real estate and banking—Chancellor Todd Shields and Professor Heather Nelson co-taught the course that featured Gearhead Outfitters founder Ted Herget.  K8 News

  • City Water & Light warned customers about a phone scam that offered lower bills while asking for payment details. The company said it will not call to request bank or card information and urged customers to contact its service center at 870-930-3300 if they receive such calls.  K8 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Arkansas State women’s basketball team will host the second-round WNIT game on Monday, Mar. 23 at 7 p.m. at First National Bank Arena. Season-ticket holders can purchase tickets until noon Friday, Mar. 20 while online sales will soon follow.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • John Calipari held a press conference where he and the Razorbacks previewed their upcoming NCAA Tournament game against Hawaii. The coach said the team remains focused and prepared for the challenge.  Delta Digital News Service
