- ➤ The Color Me DARE Run is a free 2-mile color run that will benefit the local D.A.R.E. program and will take place on April 26 along the Central Baptist Church Walking Trail in Jonesboro. Registration opens at 8:00 a.m.—the run starts at 10:00 a.m.—and participants will enjoy activities such as a bounce house, a Zumba warm-up, face painting, food trucks and giveaways. - ➤ Justin Etter from Jonesboro was named CEO of Craighead Electric Cooperative and assumed the role on Jan. 1, succeeding interim CEO Mel Coleman after his promotion from executive vice president and chief operating officer, a position he held since 2011. - ➤ A local judge found probable cause to charge 28-year-old Molly Lynn Patterson from Pocahontas with theft of $1,000 or less on a second offense— a Class D felony —after she was caught leaving Academy Sports at 2800 Parkwood Rd wearing 35 unpaid pieces of clothing hidden under her own and she remains held on a $35,000 bond awaiting arraignment on May 22. - ➤ On March 24, Jonesboro police responded to a home after a cow was spotted in the yard and charged at officers—backup with a rope quickly arrived—and a humorous video of the incident was later shared on Facebook. NEA Report
