- ➤ Tornadoes touched down Wednesday evening and damaged several Northeast communities — including Lake City, Monette, Bono and parts of Butler County — with homes, businesses and a school suffering as power lines and debris blocked roads. Residents may pick up pre-filled and fillable bags at 2800 Moore Road and 1624 Strawfloor Drive until 5 p.m. while supplies last — County Judge Marvin Day said crews will assist with bag filling. - ➤ County workers opened the courthouse annex saferoom when a tornado watch was issued yesterday and readied sandbags as forecasters warned of intense thunderstorms and heavy rains that may cause flooding.
