  • NEAVAL will host an art sale on Saturday, May 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.—the event at the Harlan Henry Senior Center on S. Church St. will feature around 20 local vendors offering paintings, pottery, photography, jewelry, and live art demonstrations, so buyers should bring cash when needed.  Jonesboro Right Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Arkansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Jonesboro has received a Letter of Reasonable Assurance from the American Veterinary Medical Association to recruit its first cohort this fall (a move expected to strengthen animal health, agriculture and rural support).  Delta Digital News Service
  • Three Jonesboro educators from Valley View Intermediate School attended the Ron Clark Academy program in Atlanta last March as part of a $1M nationwide donation from SONIC, which will bring fresh teaching ideas back home.   • Arkansas State University is hosting Earth Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 22 at Heritage Plaza Lawn (just east of Reng Student Union).
