  • The Jonesboro Business Association will host the 2nd annual Delta Crawfish Festival on May 3 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Gardens at Harmony (4517 E Parker Road) where, for $40, attendees will enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal featuring crawfish, BBQ, and handcrafted drinks with live music while raising funds for the Grit-to-Growth Pipeline that supports local youth programs.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • The Family Crisis Center will host its second annual Sexual Assault Awareness Seminar on April 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in downtown Jonesboro to help survivors and teach the community — speakers include certified therapist Doug Strickland and chief deputy prosecuting attorney Jessica Thomason, and the seminar follows the theme Together We Act, United We Change.  NEA Report

  • Drug task force agents arrested 42-year-old Christopher Dougan during a traffic stop near Parker Road and Stadium Boulevard on April 15 after noticing his unreadable Ford Ranger plate and finding concealed drugs - he faces charges for possession of meth or cocaine with intent to deliver, drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and improper tag display, with a $125,000 bond set.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • Danny Ray Blake, 49, of Jonesboro faces a Class Y felony for allegedly possessing drugs with a firearm after a traffic stop on April 14 revealed expired tags, marijuana, a loaded handgun, and suspected crack cocaine with bail set at $150,000.  NEA Report

  • The Foundation of Arts will host its eighth annual Oasis Arts and Eats Festival on Saturday, April 26 from noon to 6 p.m. along Main Street in downtown Jonesboro—an outdoor event featuring over 100 vendors, live music, kid-friendly activities, and a silent auction at Stage Two, with plans to move to Sunday, April 27 if weather is poor.  Jonesboro Right Now

  • On April 15, the Jonesboro City Council considered resolutions that—if passed—will let the city apply for three grants to fund a new pedestrian overpass on Southwest Drive and Culberhouse, a walking and biking trail along Higginbottom Creek, and upgrades for Jets, the local bus service.  K8 News
