  • Jonesboro 911 dispatchers are honored this week for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week as local groups deliver food, cookies, and cards to thank them.   • The Fisher Street Community in Action will host its annual spring fish fry on May 16 beginning at 11 a.m. at 315 N.   • Eleven Arkansas State University journalism students were inducted into the Kappa Tau Alpha honor society today — a recognition for excellence in mass communication. Shira Kelley was named the top graduate scholar among the inductees.  NEA Report
  • University College recognized its top 2025-26 graduates during the Convocation of Scholars in Jonesboro, where Margaret Mooney earned the Chancellor’s Scholar Award and Harrison Herget received the Department Scholar Award (honoring their academic excellence in interdisciplinary studies at Arkansas State University).  Mix 106.3
  • Jonesboro 4th graders in the EAST program at International Studies Magnet School are creating an interactive digital map of tornado shelters that shows travel times and pet-friendly details to help residents find safe spots. SPORTS NEWS

  • More than 100 disc golfers from 34 states and 13 countries are competing in a three-day pro tour event in Jonesboro that runs today and Sunday until 5 p.m. Organizers expect about 1,000 fans and say the event will boost local tourism (through hotels and restaurants).  Northeast Arkansas News
  • The Red Wolves recorded several wins on day one of the A-State Alumni Classic in Jonesboro yesterday + the competition continues with additional contests scheduled later this week.  K8 News
