- ➤ The Jonesboro Masonic Lodge will host the 2025 Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 10 from 6 a.m. to noon (at 2206 West Washington Avenue), where tickets cost $7 and children 6 and under eat free (proceeds benefit City Youth Ministries). Northeast Arkansas News

- ➤ Joann Wells, who was out on bond for a death by delivery arrest, was taken into custody for felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, a counterfeit substance and tampering with evidence after officers stopped her gray KIA near a gas station on May 4 at 7:05 p.m.—a K-9 alert led them to discover illegal pills and suspected meth residue in the vehicle. - ➤ Arkansas State University published an economic impact study on May 1 that found it added $2.5 billion to the state’s economy with nearly $2 billion from alumni spending—each dollar spent returns $7.10 to Arkansas. The study also said a planned veterinary program may boost jobs and revenue in the future. K8 News
- ➤ GasBuddy.com reported that gas prices in Arkansas dropped by 4.7 cents yesterday to an average of $2.73 per gallon, making them 13.1 cents lower than last month and 40.8 cents lower than last year. Patrick De Haan said that OPEC+ will boost oil production in June + rising refinery output should add more gasoline soon. K8 News

- ➤ Yesterday, the College of Liberal Arts and Communication at Arkansas State University honored its top graduating students during the Convocation of Scholars. Andrew Williams of Jonesboro received the Chancellor’s Scholar award—given to the student with the highest GPA and most credit hours—while nine other students earned 4.0 Scholar honors in various departments.
