  • Arvest Bank at Browns Lane partnered with the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas on Friday for a Mother’s Day bake sale selling desserts to raise funds for food insecurity+ the fundraiser is part of Arvest’s Million Meals campaign that aims to raise one million meals by May’s end.  Northeast Arkansas News
  • On May 8, the Greene County Rescue Squad and the Arkansas Community Foundation of Greene County established a $275,000 endowed fund in Paragould to support the Western Greene County Fire Department and local community projects. The initiative preserves the squad's 42-year legacy following its closure earlier this year.  NEA Report
  • NEA Divine Intervention is hosting its Mother’s Day Ball tonight at the Hilton Garden Inn with dinner and music for families to honor mothers. The event runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to bring the community together.  Northeast Arkansas News

  • Local florists are adjusting Mother’s Day delivery routes as gas prices top $4 per gallon in Jonesboro. They plan to optimize routes (and keep fees low) even if costs rise.  K8 News
  • McAlister’s will open on Fair Park Boulevard next to Panda Express and across from Lowe’s, according to Coldwell Banker Village Communities. Chase Copeland and Carroll Caldwell handled the property deal, and an opening date was not provided.  NEA Report

  • NEA PRIDEfest 2026 returns downtown on Saturday, June 13. The all-day event (12 p.m. to 9 p.m.) will feature live performances, food trucks and community booths celebrating inclusion.  The Fox 104.9

HEALTH NEWS

  • Arisa Health will not bid on a new community mental health center contract for 41 counties because required funding has become unsustainable. When the current contract ends on June 30, it will close some locations — 13 outpatient clinics will remain open to support clients.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • Arisa Health announced it will not bid for the statewide mental health center contract when it expires on June 30, citing $4.4M in annual funding cuts along with rising costs — after over 55 years serving vulnerable populations.
