- ➤ Nettleton Baptist Church in Jonesboro announced Food Trucks & Fireworks 2026—a festival event on Friday, July 3 at the NEA District Fairgrounds. - ➤ Jonesboro welcomed its first Raising Cane’s at 2511 E. Highland Drive Tuesday morning. The event featured live performances, a giveaway awarding 20 free meals for a year, and a $1,500 donation to the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, with plans for future community partnerships. Mix 106.3

- ➤ Arkansas State University System has launched a scholarship fund for Arkansas adults facing financial hardships who plan to return to college; eligible students can study on campus at ASU in Jonesboro or online and use funds for tuition, books + admissions testing when pursuing business, healthcare, science, technology or vocational training. - ➤ Adoria Roberts, a first-year sport management major at A-State from Hot Springs, has been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship and will study Chinese at Chung Yuan Christian University in Taoyuan City this summer. The scholarship supports her goal to step outside her comfort zone and embrace global learning. K8 News
- ➤ A-State’s Neil Griffin College of Business honored its outstanding 2025-26 graduates during Convocation of Scholars today; Damien Ehie from Jonesboro received the Chancellor’s Scholar award for the highest GPA plus several departmental winners were recognized in their programs. The Fox 104.9

- ➤ Jonesboro residents may attend an Arkansas DHS town hall today from 6 p.m. & 7 p.m. at St. Bernards Auditorium, 505 E. Washington Ave, to learn about the new federal work requirement for ARHOME Medicaid beneficiaries, which becomes fully enforced Jan. 1. Jonesboro Right Now
- ➤ Today, officers from local agencies are training on the Blue Envelope Program at First National Bank Arena parking lot from 10 a.m. until noon to better communicate with drivers showing sensory or communication differences. The program uses simulated traffic stops and was created under Act 16. The Fox 104.9
