- ➤ AAA reported the state average for regular unleaded is now $4.07 a gallon, up four cents from last week, while Memorial Day travelers are expected to budget more (prices are $1.28 higher than last year). K8 News

- ➤ At Arkansas State University, staff were honored at the 33rd Distinguished Performance Awards with seven individual awards, one team award, and the inaugural Chancellor's Medal of Honor for Staff Excellence going to Donald (Andrew) Bearden on Friday, May 15th. - ➤ Renovations began on Tuesday, May 12, on the Dean B. Ellis Library clock tower at A-State. A crane is lifting heavy parts to replace clock hands + retune 23 bronze bells as work is set to finish this week. The Fox 104.9
- ➤ The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is hosting its monthly Homeschool Hangout on Thursday, May 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in its Round Room, where children in pre-K through sixth grade will explore wildlife conservation and engineering with a read-aloud and hands-on project. - ➤ The Jonesboro Fire Department earned Gold Helmet status on May 11 after over half its active roster enrolled in the National Firefighter Registry. Chief Marty Hamrick said the department is one of only 165 across the nation (and the second in the state) to be recognized for cancer prevention. Jonesboro Right Now
- ➤ Lighthouse Education Cooperative received a $5,000 mini grant from Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas to install three AEDs across its campus in April for improved safety.
