The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is launching a new adult book club called Hooked on Books.

The first meeting is on Wednesday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m. in the Civic League Room (315 W. Oak Ave), and advance registration is required by Monday, June 8 at 5 p.m.

Jonesboro shoppers braved rain Friday afternoon as local stores saw a rush of buyers picking up last-minute holiday items ahead of the long weekend.
