Over 651,000 community votes chose winners for the 2026 Best of Northeast Arkansas awards, celebrated by local business owners and nonprofit leaders.

The red carpet event took place at the Embassy Suites Red Wolf Convention Center on Thursday afternoon and Friday at noon (honoring trusted local favorites).

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture awarded wildland fire suppression kits to 65 rural fire departments - including teams in Northeast Arkansas - to boost local fire response measures.

Arkansas State athletes are set to compete in the NCAA Track and Field West First Rounds from May 27 through May 30 at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville.

Competitors including Ergor Kniazev (hammer throw) and Kiara Strayhorn (long jump) aim to qualify for the Championships at Hayward Field.
