  • The Bradbury Art Museum will host Magic at the Museum, a casual Magic: The Gathering event, on July 3 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 201 Olympic Drive on the Arkansas State University campus.   • The Historic Dyess Colony: Johnny Cash Boyhood Home announced that Rosanne Cash will host the Sunken Lands Songwriting Circle with Trisha Yearwood and John Leventhal at 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 in Riceland Hall at Arkansas State University. Pre-sale for Boyhood Home members begins on July 1 and tickets will go on sale to the public on July 8 — proceeds support preservation of the site.  Jonesboro Right Now

  • The Jonesboro Public Library will host a Preschool Play event for children ages two to five on July 1 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Round Room at 315 West Oak Avenue—offering musical chairs, parachute activities, and hopscotch with no registration required.  Northeast Arkansas News
  • Nettleton Public Schools are mourning Bobbie Timmermann, a devoted educator who passed away on June 17 after a 58-year career as a computer and business teacher and FBLA adviser. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Jonesboro city council approved a $17.5M revenue bond ordinance on June 19 to fund a new E-911 Center, widen Caraway Road and add pedestrian and bike-friendly trails with $16M set for these projects and an extra $1.5M for unexpected costs. The bonds are financed by non-tax revenue from franchise fees and passed by a 9-3 vote using an emergency clause to lock in a 4.96% rate—while the center's location is still being decided.  Jonesboro Right Now
