  • An accident occurred in front of NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital on June 21 at 12:11 p.m. at the intersection of East Johnson Avenue and Disciple Drive—officers and crews responded as westbound lanes were blocked and one person was injured.  K8 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Arkansas State University announced the names of students who met degree requirements at the Spring Commencement at First National Bank Arena on June 21 — the list includes graduates from 43 states, D.C. and 26 countries. Chancellor Todd Shields presented diplomas across associate, bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral levels and honored students based on their GPA distinctions.  Jonesboro Right Now

  • Parents in Jonesboro are urged to check the back seat before locking their car to help prevent hot car emergencies; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports nearly 40 children a year die from heatstroke in vehicles—leaving an item behind can serve as a reminder.  The Fox 104.9

  • Wehiwa Aloy, the University of Arkansas shortstop, won the 47th Golden Spikes Award Saturday evening at Charles Schwab Field and became the third Razorback to claim the honor.
