- ➤ NEA Game Fest will be the largest event in its nine-year history when it starts at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 17 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Jonesboro Red Wolf Convention Center—hosting over 100 gaming activities from board games to role-playing games. - ➤ Jonesboro police said yesterday that a man injured in the 300 block of North Allis Street suffered severe lacerations during an altercation rather than a gunshot—he is still receiving treatment while investigators seek a person of interest. The Fox 104.9
- ➤ On July 2, Jonesboro police arrested 20-year-old James Earl Tobar after he allegedly strangled his mother's cat during a mental crisis at the 1300 block of Loberg Lane—he appeared in court on July 7 and will return for bail on Wednesday after a mandated mental health evaluation. NEA Report
