  • Hundreds of gamers attended NEA Game Fest at Embassy Suites in Jonesboro from Thursday through Sunday as part of a four-day festival that featured card games, board games, role-playing games, and tournaments. The event, which started in 2017 to unite gamers and raise funds for the Public Library's Friends of the Library group, drew participants from across Northeast Arkansas.  K8 News

  • A Craighead County man was arrested in mid-June in Jonesboro on charges that include aggravated robbery as a fight left people injured—his bond was set at $500,000.  Jonesboro Sun

  • The Jonesboro City Council approved an ordinance on July 18 allowing SHJ Holdings to receive a private club permit for The Den-Zone at the ASU Pavilion—an ordinance that passed 11 to 1. A resident warned the club might lead to underage drinking, but club representatives said they will use ID scanners and work with local charities to keep the venue safe—ensuring only adults will be allowed.  Mix 106.3

  • Arkansas health insurers have filed proposals to raise individual health plan premiums by an average of 26.2% in 2026 — affecting roughly 227,000 ARHOME enrollees and 166,000 healthcare.gov customers.
