- ➤ Jonesboro police arrested two men on July 21 after a high-speed chase on Parker Road when a suspect in a red Camaro with an expired license plate threw a bag containing over 1,800 fentanyl pills into oncoming traffic—officers charged the men with fentanyl trafficking and reckless driving. - ➤ Thomas Demetrius Williams, a multi-convicted felon from Jonesboro, was sentenced yesterday to 18 years in federal prison + five years of supervised release for pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute 50 or more grams of methamphetamine after an FBI investigation led to the seizure of over 730 grams of methamphetamine, additional drugs, and a firearm at his residence.
