  • Two people were injured in a Saturday night shooting on State Street when police responded at 9:35 p.m.—a female sustained a minor injury on scene and a male victim was treated at a local hospital with non-life threatening wounds while a suspect was taken into custody around midnight.  Jonesboro Right Now

  • A $25,000 gift from the Rorick family established the Rorick Family Veterinary Medicine Scholarship at A-State—honoring veteran equine veterinarian Dr. Jerre Kent Rorick—to support full-time, on-campus College of Veterinary Medicine students with a preference for large animal medicine and Pi Kappa Alpha members.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • The RESTORE Hub at A-State added four new employees yesterday & they are filling key roles on the business acuity team.   • A federal agency approved Arkansas’ request to use Medicaid for short-term stays in psychiatric hospitals for adults, which state officials say will boost access to mental health services—especially for low-income residents.  Delta Digital News Service
  • The Jonesboro City Council will hold a first reading meeting on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. to discuss a private club permit for Bridge Street Brewery—proposed by non-profit SHJ Concepts—to operate a microbrewery and restaurant at 516 Cate Street with a $10,000 monthly lease payment.  The Fox 104.9
  • Key officials from the Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation announced that electricity rates will rise in the coming years— the exact increases are still uncertain.
