- ➤ The Allen Park All-Inclusive Playground reopened on Aug. 1 as a new play space and splash pad accessible for people with disabilities—funded by an Outdoor Recreation Grant of $379,030 and an additional $200,000 for the splash pad while future improvements like swing sets and a shade structure are planned. The Allen Park Community Center hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony that celebrated the playground's new features. K8 News

- ➤ Jonesboro police arrested Christopher Triblett, 40, after stopping him on August 1 when officers found a firearm, marijuana, and cash during a traffic stop triggered by a drug task force investigation—a search at his Richmond address later uncovered additional marijuana and three guns, with bail set at $250,000 and a court date scheduled for Sept. 30. - ➤ Jonesboro police arrested Riley Q. McCarthy on Aug. 2 after he allegedly led troopers on a high-speed motorcycle chase through our streets, and he now faces a Class C felony plus charges for speeding and reckless driving—his next court date is set for Sept. 30. NEA Report
- ➤ A Jonesboro woman was held on a $100K cash and surety bond after a Saturday night shooting on the 300 block of State Street and is set to appear on Sept. 30—police are also investigating a second, unrelated shooting. Mix 106.3
