  • State prosecutors nolle prossed charges against Lacey Justin Barber for supplying fentanyl that led to an inmate's death at the Craighead County Detention Center after a federal indictment was secured—his federal trial will begin July 28, 2026.  The Fox 104.9

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Aug. 28th, the College of Veterinary Medicine at A-State added two new faculty members; Dr. Philip Johnson became professor and associate dean for professional education while Dr. Scott Reiners became teaching associate professor of equine practice. The college will complete its 56,000-square-foot facility in spring and open it in fall for its first cohort (120 students) as it prepares to deliver hands-on veterinary training for regional needs.  Jonesboro Right Now

SPORTS NEWS

  • Jonesboro Youth Trap Team earned many awards at the 2025 AIM Grand National Trapshooting Championships in July, with head coach Joey Glaub calling it their best performance yet+25 students competed in five squads in Sparta, IL from July 26 to 28 and now practice at the Jonesboro Shooting Sports Complex to prepare for future events.
