- ➤ The Northeast Arkansas Family Crisis Center will host CajunFest at 4200 Friendly Hope Road on Oct. 11 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.—the event offers unlimited Cajun-inspired food and drinks along with a silent auction, raffle, and donation drive to support shelter and advocacy services for survivors. - ➤ Jonesboro faces rising fire truck costs and long wait times as finance director Steve Purtee stated that prices rose from $750,000 to $950,000 in recent purchases; the fire department is setting aside $650,000 from its depreciation fund and partnering with City Water & Light to secure future apparatus — all to safeguard the growing community.
