- ➤ On Oct 4, dozens of runners and their dogs ran the Purple Ribbon Project’s NEA 5K Rescue Run at Craighead Forest Park to raise money for local animal rescues—including TAPS, Biscuit’s Legacy, and NAFA—with 92 people taking part. - ➤ Jonesboro community members played in the inaugural Tee Up for DARE Scramble on Friday at Ridgepointe Country Club to raise funds for the local DARE program used to buy books, T-shirts, prizes and treats for 1,400 children. DARE officer Lynae Prater said the event, hosted by the Jonesboro Police Department, surpassed its goal of raising between $10,000 and $15,000 and will become an annual fundraiser.
