- ➤ CajunFest returned after a five-year break on Oct. 11, drawing hundreds of people who supported the Northeast Arkansas Family Crisis Center & enjoyed Cajun-style food, a silent auction, raffle and donation drive. The event raised funds and awareness for help with domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. K8 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Jonesboro began upgrading the playground at University Heights Lions Club Park with a new ADA-accessible design and artificial turf—crews removed the old equipment last week and the project will finish by Nov. 1. - ➤ St. Bernards held its sixth annual Pink Warrior Walk today in Jonesboro to honor those fighting breast cancer and to raise funds for research. The event, held during Breast Cancer Awareness month, brought survivors, families, and supporters together (displaying strong community spirit). K8 News

- ➤ In a Friday night football game on October 10th, Salem beat Atkins 20—14 as the win added a key victory to Salem’s season. K8 News
- ➤ Bobby Petrino returned as interim head coach on Saturday when Arkansas nearly closed the 34-31 gap against No. 12 Tennessee at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville—Taylen Green's two touchdown passes brought the Razorbacks within reach before the Volunteers ran out the clock. Delta Digital News Service
