  • Jonesboro held its 25th annual Veterans Day Parade downtown to honor 250 years of military service by the Army, Navy, Marines and all other branches — community members waved American flags as the Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation led the march. Rich Norris, the foundation’s president, said the event showed how much local residents value their veterans.  K8 News
  • Restaurants and local organizations in Jonesboro are preparing for a pause in SNAP benefits that could leave families struggling, and they have started offering free meals and deliveries to help those in need – Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders has already allocated $500,000 to food banks as judges require SNAP funding to continue despite delays that may affect over 200,000 Arkansonians. This community effort comes as concerns grow during the government shutdown, with local groups bracing for increased demand during November.  Mix 106.3

CULTURE NEWS

  • Red Wolf Renaissance Fair has returned to Craighead Forest Park to support red wolf conservation—today the fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with buhurt duels, a scavenger hunt, and new vendor offerings that build on last year’s success.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • The Arkansas State University Museum hosted a Dia de los Muertos celebration where local people remembered loved ones through traditions—like putting photos on an ofrenda and writing notes—and Museum Curator Jill Kary with her team organized the event.  K8 News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Soybean farmer Jesse Flye said that the U.S.-China trade deal will let China buy 12 million metric tons of soybeans until January and 25 million each year starting in 2026. He noted that the deal could open new market opportunities for Jonesboro farmers but will not fix their current challenges — enforcement is key.  K8 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Arkansas State University said its late alumna Kay Kyle Luter left a $500,000 gift to its College of Veterinary Medicine — she was a devoted educator who died Oct. 19. The university offers its deepest condolences to her family and friends.  Jonesboro Sun

SPORTS NEWS

  • Westside Volleyball lost to Pulaski Academy 3-2 in the 4A state final as both teams battled hard in a closely contested game that thrilled the spectators.  K8 News
  • Arkansas State recorded 9 sacks on defense in its Saturday night win over Troy, improving to a 5-4 overall record and 4-1 in Sun Belt play—setting up a home game against Southern Miss next Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium, which will be broadcast on ESPN2 or ESPNU.  K8 News
