  • A Jonesboro florist, Zach Jones, was chosen from thousands nationwide to decorate the White House for Christmas and will travel to Washington, D.C. the week of Thanksgiving to prep and install decorations—fulfilling a dream and showcasing Northeast Arkansas pride.  K8 News
  • KASU 91.9 FM is launching its Fall Fund Drive Part Two today through November 14—airing weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.—with $32,000 still needed of the $50,000 goal to help cover funding cuts after federal support ended.  The Fox 104.9
  • Habitat for Humanity hosted its 15th annual Souper Sunday fundraiser in Jonesboro where community members sampled 15 soups and desserts to support affordable home ownership and home repair programs in northeast Arkansas. Executive director Angy Abaunza said the funds will help build three houses in Paragould and repair two homes in Jonesboro for families in need.  K8 News
  • Christmas at the Park returns as a drive-through and walk-through light display that will open at Joe Mack Campbell Park on November 26 and run until December 23. The event is a new partnership between Ground Crew and the City of Jonesboro — featuring over 400,000 lights including a Snowflake Forest and a 300-foot light tunnel — that promises to bring a festive tradition to families.  Jonesboro Right Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Arkansas State University’s Delta Center for Economic Development has opened registration for the Thrown to the Wolves competition, inviting high school students from 10th through 12th grade in Jonesboro to share their business ideas. Registration lasts through Nov. 21 and the event will be held at A-State on Feb. 25, 2026, where winners will receive cash prizes, a one-time scholarship—and free workspace at the A-State Innovate Garage.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • The Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund awarded 99 Fall scholarships to single parents, including 59 from Craighead County, with ceremonies held on Oct. 19 in Jonesboro and Oct. 21 in Blytheville — the fund helped cover costs for degrees and trade certificates, offering up to $1,600 per award — and provided mentoring and financial guidance to ease education challenges.  Jonesboro Right Now
