- ➤ After nearly 30 years, the Jonesboro Community Thanksgiving Meal will feed about 2,500 people on Thanksgiving Day, Nov 27, from 9:30 a.m. until noon at St. Bernards Auditorium — 505 E. Washington Ave. The event will offer a new menu with turkey, chicken, and ham donated by Boar’s Head, and volunteers are welcome to help from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Jonesboro Right Now
- ➤ Today, a leader from Cornerstone Methodist Church spoke about the Glorious Giving Market that will raise donations for local needs — the interview explained how neighbors can join the event and help their community. K8 News
- ➤ On Friday, a $47,000 donation was made by the Arkansas Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (ARDAR) to the Veterans’ Cottages in Jonesboro, boosting transitional housing for veterans. - ➤ Attorney General Tim Griffin and Arkansas State University today launched the One Pill Can Kill initiative — teaching college students in Northeast Jonesboro about fentanyl dangers through hands-on overdose training and naloxone use.
