  • Kyra Pratt, a 17-year-old high school senior, organized the first Paving the Promise 5K in Jonesboro to raise about $5,000 for Promise House—a faith-based recovery home at Southwest Church of Christ. Packet pickup is today from 4—7 p.m. there and the race will begin Saturday, Nov. 15 at 9 a.m.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • ARDAR donated $47,000 to Veterans’ Cottages on November 12 to support transitional housing for veterans. The program is a collaboration among the City, Arkansas State University, and the Beck Center for Veterans.  Delta Digital News Service

  • Riceland Foods will hold its Annual Membership Meeting today at Embassy Suites on 23 Red Wolf Blvd in Jonesboro.   • Arkansas State University announced a new $25,000 Carvell Family Endowed Scholarship—designed to help first generation college students attend classes full-time on campus. HEALTH NEWS

  • Methodist Family Health purchased Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro and will convert the facility into a 70-bed acute psychiatric center for children under 18. The project will add safety features+ a schedule for the renovations will be shared when available.  Jonesboro Right Now

SPORTS NEWS

  • Arkansas State head baseball coach Mike Silva announced the return of left-handed pitcher Chase Richter for the upcoming 2025—26 season. Richter, who made 28 appearances and earned eight saves last season, will pitch in the season opener on February 13 at Slayton Family Field.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • ESPN's SportsCenter on Campus will visit Heritage Plaza on November 20 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Fans can join at 12:30 for giveaways and games + the broadcast airs before the Red Wolves' primetime matchup against Louisiana.  Northeast Arkansas News
  • Yesterday, Arkansas State volleyball head coach Brian Gerwig announced the signing of three athletes—Calea Bush, Keira Garinger and Eden Roethel—for the 2026 roster. Bush from Paetow High became the first Division I volleyball player from her school, while Garinger earned Main Street Player of the Year honors and Roethel surpassed 1,000 career kills; the team prepares to face Old Dominion on Nov. 14-15.  Jonesboro Right Now
  • On Tuesday night at Great Southern Bank Arena, the A-State men's basketball team overcame a 16-point deficit to beat Missouri State 86-85 — Chandler Jackson led with 33 points and ended a nine-game losing streak in Springfield.  Jonesboro Right Now
