The Paving the Promise 5K is a charity run benefiting the Promise House—a recovery home for women in Northeast Arkansas.

The race will take place tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Southwest Church in Jonesboro with check-in beginning at 7:45 a.m.

Today at City Hall, the Jonesboro Police, Fire and City Hall teams compete in a drive-thru food drive that supports local student backpack programs by collecting non-perishable items.

The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. today and continues until December 12.

The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library has announced Fall Break Staycation activities for kids and tweens featuring crafts, Nerf challenges and building events from Nov.

ARDOT announced that the I-55 Mississippi River Bridge will close in both directions just after midnight on Saturday for repair work—southbound lanes will reopen Sunday night while northbound lanes remain closed until Tuesday.
