  • Jonesboro's clean-up program ended 2025 with 12 events where crews removed over 100 tons of trash and hundreds of tires from neighborhoods, plus a new bulky-item drop-off site collected an additional 100 tons.   • Jonesboro Public Library will host family and teen New Year’s celebrations starting Tuesday, Dec. 30. Tweens can join a neon-themed event and concert in the Round Room on Tuesday while teens compete in gaming on Wednesday (at 315 W. Oak Ave.).  The Fox 104.9
  • JRN released a list of New Year’s events in Jonesboro starting tonight with NEA Divine Intervention’s sobriety ball at First Presbyterian Church and continuing with tween neon fun, concerts, trivia, and brunch options at local venues.   • The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission asks residents to donate used Christmas trees stripped of decorations to build fish habitat and enhance angling.   • Arkansas State announced yesterday that coach Keith Heckendorf is leaving his role as offensive coordinator to join Iowa State as quarterback coach. The change marks a new chapter for local football programs (and stirs interest) ahead of the season.  K8 News
  • Conway tight end Dawson McFadin signed with Arkansas State football yesterday. He joins the team as it prepares for the upcoming season.  K8 News
  • Garrett Altman will join Arkansas State as offensive coordinator after two seasons as Vanderbilt quarterbacks coach where he helped develop Heisman contender Diego Pavia. The Texas native also gained experience at New Mexico State and TCU, promising SEC expertise to boost the program's offense.  K8 News
