Game day. Arkansas State, fresh off its bye week, hosts Louisiana-Monroe at Centennial Bank Stadium this afternoon, looking for a third straight win. The Red Wolves (4-4, 2-2 Sun Belt) won at Southern Miss on Oct. 17 and beat Georgia State at home on Oct. 24. The Rice Bowl Trophy is up for grabs for the second time.
- Out for the season: right tackle Sterling Wiggins
- Questionable: linebacker Nigel Nelson, leg injury
- Probable: defensive linemen Sultan Badmus and Jakohri Johnson
- Tanner Welch or Aleric Watson will start at right tackle
Coach Butch Jones saw his team's identity coming into focus just before the break. "We played eight (straight) grueling weeks, mostly all one-score games that came down to the wire," he said. Louisiana-Monroe (1-7, 1-3) has one win, 21-14 at Troy on Oct. 24. The Warhawks play two quarterbacks: Aidan Armenta, with 1,323 passing yards and 10 touchdowns, and Austin Carlisle, the team's leading rusher.
